2 Topical Treatments To Ease Inflammation After A Shaven Mole Removal Procedure

Moles can appear for a number of reasons, and many people are born with moles, but you can also remove moles. Cancerous moles are typically the moles that are often targeted for removal. But even if your mole is noncancerous, you can still have it removed. A mole removal procedure can seem intimidating, but the procedure can be performed within a few hours. If your doctor decides to shave down the mole, then this can result in some inflammation. The inflammation does not last long but can cause some discomfort for a short amount of time. Fortunately, there are a few topical treatments that you can use to ease the inflammation associated with mole removal.

Chamomile Oil

Chamomile is great for application on swollen, irritated, and inflamed areas. The oil is commonly used for rashes and wounds. You can use the oil following your mole removal in order to calm the area as quickly as possible. Chamomile oil can be used by heating it up in a pot of water. Pour a few tablespoons of chamomile in a small container and place that container in hot water. Keep the oil there for a few minutes and allow the heat from the water to warm up the chamomile oil. Once warm, use a cotton ball or cotton swab to coat the area in the oil. You may have been instructed to keep your mole site covered with a bandage. Make sure that you reapply the bandage once you have applied the chamomile.

Cold Ice Pack

If you have a bit of trouble getting your hands on essential oils, then the next topical treatment should be much more convenient. An ice pack is great to use on an inflamed area because it slows the speed of blood flow to the area. Once this happens, this will also slow the inflammation. You can make your own homemade ice pack by filling a plastic bag with ice cubes. Avoid crushing the ice, as this will make the ice melt much faster. If the pack feels too cold against your skin, then you can wrap it in a cloth before application. Hold the pack against your surgical site for a few minutes. Once the area begins to feel numb, then remove the ice and give it some time to heat up. Reapply the ice and repeat this process throughout the day.

The inflammation after mole removal can seem like a deterrent. With these topical remedies, it no longer has to be. Use these treatments to ease your inflammation as quickly as possible.
